Mike spent two summers working in the Bedard Lab. During the summer of 2013 he worked under Dr. Christopher McMaster studying a genetic eye disorder called FEVR. During the following year, and summer of 2014, Michael completed a Honours project under the co-supervision of Dr. Weei-Yuarn Huang where he developed an assay to measure the level of oncogenic BRAF-V600E mRNA in tumour samples.

Where are they now?

Mike is currently pursuing doctorate research at the University of Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship. He is reading for Medical Sciences, in the field of clinical genetics, at the Weatherhall Institute for Molecular Medicine.
